Keven Stelzel

Bow Technician, Mentor & Coach

Keven Stelzel is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the first Gulf War (1990–91), where he served as a section leader of his mortar squad. After the Marine Corps he became a firefighter for the City of Glendale and, following the North Shore consolidation, a Heavy Equipment Operator who also served on the department's peer support team. After 28.5 years of service to the North Shore, Keven retired and went to work part-time at a local pro shop, learning bow setup and repair and helping with beginner archery lessons.

An avid archer and member of Sherwood Forest Bowmen, Keven shoots leagues and has competed in several national tournaments, including Vegas, Nationals, State and the Rushmore Rumble. Beyond hunting Wisconsin, he has headed west for elk and mule deer.

“Being asked to join Bows for Battle is an honor and a privilege—to be able to give back, and to do it with a passion for what I love to do: archery.”

Keven Stelzel is a Marine Corps Gulf War veteran and retired North Shore firefighter with pro-shop experience in bow setup and repair. An avid tournament archer at Sherwood Forest Bowmen, he serves as our resident bow technician, mentor and coach.
